Where do I even start? In the simplest way I can think of to put it, I'm here to help.
My name's Jake and I'm the guy behind Working Progress. It's my goal here to help bring together a bunch of content creators and human experiences to showcase all of the "bright sides" there are to negative experiences.
It is my hope that this site can act as a kind of hub for shared ideas, where people can come together and help each other make the best of bad situations and realize that they're not alone in this world.
I am an educator, pursuing certification in secondary level English. I've always admired the power of language and valued it as the best way (in my opinion, of course) to change the world. As I said before, I'm here to help. To me, language is the best way to go about doing that.
As an educator, I'm no stranger to the struggles of failure and trial-and-error. Between my own experiences and the experiences of my students, it's a reality I'm faced with every day. In that way, this site can help me as well - help me develop my skills at assisting people through times of difficulty, helping them see the bright side.
I hope that, with time, this site becomes something greater than I could have even managed on my own. I hope that it transcends my capabilities and becomes something organic and really of its own kind. I will do whatever I can to help facilitate that type of growth to better both myself and this resource I am providing.
That said, none of that would be possible without YOU. Yes, you! Whoever you are that's reading this - you're making this dream of mine one step closer to reality with each and every word you take in. So thank you! It's so amazing to have this opportunity and it means the world that you're helping me to achieve this goal in any way.
